‘Smellmaps’ Engage Noses in Urban Exploration
British designer and artist Kate McLean specializes in creating maps of world cities using the senses of taste and, importantly, scent. Part of the reason, she explains, is that, with memory so closely linked to smell, our scent-souvenirs of a city will last longer than a visual mental image.
