Musician Nick Hakim developed his soulful sound while growing up in Washington, DC. While undeniably sultry, his style takes a departure from many new-wave R&B acts that rely on dark, distorted electronic elements, and instead puts Mr. Hakim's emotive voice closer to the top, surrounded by a more organic, vintage-inspired yet nonetheless modern, instrumentation. His new EP, "Where Will We Go Part 1" is out now.
