Taking photos of food has become so commonplace, the smartphone’s now basically a fourth utensil. (Sorry, spork.) But some folks are better at it than others… and one of the best is Todd Selby, mastermind behind the New York Times column “Edible Selby.” He recently released a coffee table book (also called “Edible Selby”) chock-full of beautifully-shot kitchen spaces. Brendan checks in with Todd at Mast Brothers Chocolate in Brooklyn – one of the many places he photographed – to learn why we’re so fascinated with where other people work.

And our teacher is indie filmmaker Angela Robinson. Her new biopic is called "Professor Marston and the Wonder Women." Back in the early '80s, four lanky Brits calling themselves Depeche Mode, armed only with primitive synthesizers, started churning out pop hits. Nearly 40 years later they've sold over 100 million albums and are one of the most popular live acts on Earth. This weekend they'll become the first band ever to play four consecutive sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Rico spoke to Mode's main songwriter, Martin Gore, and his fellow founding member, Andy Fletcher, about their synth beginnings, their shift to more political music, and the worst night of their musical lives.
